Prof. Justice N. Bawole

Professor Justice Nyigmah Bawole is the Dean of the University of Ghana Business School and a former Head of Department for Public Administration and Health Services Management at the Business School. He is a Professor of Public Administration and Management. He is a trained Teacher from Wesley College of Education, Kumasi. He obtained a PhD in Development Policy and Management from the University of Manchester, UK. He also holds MPhil. (Public Administration), BSc. Administration (Public Administration) and Diploma in Public Administration degrees from the University of Ghana Business School. Before joining the University of Ghana, he worked for an Accra-based NGO as Director of Research and Projects, where he led several capacity building programmes; conducted community development needs diagnosis and designed and implemented projects to address community needs. He has over 100 publications comprising edited books, book chapters, encyclopaedia entries, peer-reviewed technical reports and peer-reviewed journal articles in reputable international journals. He has consulted for a number of local and international organisations such as KFW, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in Accra, CDD, UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce, OXFAM, UNDP, UNEP, ECASARD, Ministry of Finance and MESTI. He has organised panels and presented academic papers in many international academic conferences and has won a number of grants for research projects.
