Dr Mavis Owureku-Asare

Dr. Mavis Owureku-Asare has over twenty years of experience in food and agricultural research. She has played key roles in the management of various projects in the food and agricultural sector in Ghana. She specializes in food processing technologies, with a focus on post-harvest management of agricultural produce. She is Certified in FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food by The United States Department of Agriculture. She also drafts patents for scientific inventions. Dr. Mavis OwurekuAsare worked as a Principal Research Scientist at the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute (BNARI) of Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) for sixteen (16) years. During her tenure as Manager of the Centre, She set up the Food Innovation laboratory responsible for transferring research innovations to Industry. She is an Aspen Global Innovator.
Dr Owureku-Asare is the CEO of Impact Food Hub, a dynamic organization which is bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical application by leveraging on research and innovation to support the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and agribusinesses in Ghana and beyond.
